Breast Surgery
Breast Augmentation
Breast Augmentation is a surgery designed to enlarge the breasts by using Silicone Implants (prostheses) filled with either
saline (salt water/ IV fluid) or silicone gel. This surgery is frequently sought by women who are unhappy with the small size
of their breasts or have lost breast volume/size after pregnancy or weight loss.
Breast Reduction & Lift
Breast Reduction is the surgery sought by many women to relieve the physical restrictions and painful strain on the neck,
shoulders and back caused by excessively heavy breasts. Reduction in breast size also accomplishes a lift of the breast mound
and the nipple area. A Breast Lift, called a Mastopexy, removes excess skin and tightens the surrounding breast tissue to make
a more compact breast mound, which is also lifted.
Breast Reconstruction
Breast Reconstruction is frequently chosen by women following mastectomy (surgical removal of a breast) or lumpectomy done to
treat a cancer or a pre-cancerous condition. It can be done during the same anesthesia as the mastectomy, or can be done months later.
These techniques for reconstruction may also be used to correct other breast deformities.
