Breast Augmentation can enhance your appearance and help build your self-confidence and self esteem, by giving you more aesthetically pleasing breasts that are larger, but still in proportion to her body.

PROCEDURE

Your breast augmentation will be done in the safety of an accredited outpatient surgical facility or hospital under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation.

The procedure is done through a small incision that is hidden at the edge of the areola or the fold beneath the breast.
After the incision is made, a pocket is created either under the breast tissue or under the pectoralis muscle. This pocket is made just large enough to accommodate the implant.
The implant is then positioned to give the best cosmetic result.
Saline filled silicone breast implants (prostheses), which are FDA approved, are used. Silicone gel implants are no longer available for elective new breast augmentations because of FDA restrictions.

RECOVERY

Immediately after your procedure, you will have dressings applied to the incision sites and be placed in a bra for support. Sometimes an elastic garment that wraps around the top of your breast is used over your bra so as to push the implant downward and stretch the tissues.
Immediately after surgery, the enlarged breasts will also appear somewhat swollen and firmer. The final size will be more apparent in several weeks. The final shape and softness may take up to 3 months to evolve.
You will be able to shower the day following the surgery.
Initial discomfort is easily controlled by oral medications.
Activities requiring raising the arm above the level of the upper chest should be avoided for 10 days after surgery. Clothes that button in the front are better that those that pull over your head. With great care, you can drive 3 to 7 days after surgery. Patients can usually return to work in 3 to 4 days unless your occupation requires particularly strenuous movements and/or lifting.

OTHER OPTIONS

Along with a breast augmentation, patients with natural breast that have experienced a large amount of sag, with the level of the nipple below the fold, where the breast meets the chest, may opt to have a breast augmentation with a lift (mastopexy).
